Kajabi email automation: automatic discount campaign when people don’t buy

Okay. In this video I want to show you how to create discount automation where if somebody goes to your sales page or something like that, and they don’t buy from you, you can trigger automation or find out who those people are, so you can offer them a discount.

This works whether you’re going to send either a broadcast to people, or even an email campaign. So I will set it up as a email campaign first and because I might maybe want people to go through this all the time.

[00:00:43] Email sequence right here. I want that like this, and we’re going to say you know, offer. Offer email campaign. Okay. We’ll just do it like that. And I can send people through this all the time or like one time and have this my offer. So I’ll just put it as offer for you. This is don’t copy any of this copy of course.

[00:01:08] Because it sucks, but that’s not what I’m trying to do. I’m trying to show you the parameters or the steps in how to do this. So this would be your email and you would type your stuff here. Okay. And then you’re going to link to your offer.

[00:01:29] There we go. And it’s going to go to my sales page.com. So now we’ve got that link to offer and all your copy. Best, Joey, whatever.

[00:01:51] Okay. So we’re going to save that guy.

[00:01:56] Cool now what’s going to happen here is we want to have an automation, right? We wanna have an automation that is going to go into another. It’s going to trigger the other campaign, which wouldn’t have another campaign here. So when the email sequence is clicked. We want to do a couple of things here, but first let’s go create the offer campaign.

[00:02:21] So we have the offer email campaign, and now we’re going to do a discount campaign.

[00:03:11] And this one is going to be discount. Again, don’t copy any of this stuff because it’s not what you want on the subjects. And then you have your link to your sales page discount, page.com, whatever.

[00:03:39] Okay. Now we’ve got that in here. So now what I would do is if you are sending somebody to a sales page and you’re waiting to see if they’re going to buy, then obviously you don’t want to do it, right away. Like the second day. Because then they’re going to get used to you saying “Hey, go buy this thing.”

[00:03:58] But a day later he’s going to send me a discount. So I would do this maybe five days later or something like that. Okay. So now we’re going to do a couple of things here to make sure that we’re not sending a discount to somebody who’s already bought and all that other stuff.

[00:04:13] So now what we want to go back into this campaign and we want to do a couple of triggers. So we want to do that automation, right? When this email sequence is collect. And it’s any link in the email. So, but we’re going to do this one here and we say, okay, when that is clicked.

[00:04:34] You want to subscribe to an email sequence right here, and that is going to go into our discount campaign. So pretty simple right now, let’s go back to the other one and this is where you want the condition in. So If you want to do this automatically, this is kind of where it gets tricky because you want to have a condition here.

[00:05:04] The discount campaign. So if they’re already sitting in here, what’s going to happen is let’s put an unsubscribed trigger. And when the offer is purchased, it unsubscribes them from the discount campaign.

[00:05:33] So what’s going to happen is they’re going to go into let’s see right here. They’re going to go into the offer discount campaign. They click on the sales page, then it automatically drops them into discount campaign here. And they sit for five days.

[00:05:56] And that’s what I suggest like three to five days, whatever you want, maybe even longer than that. And there’ll be just sitting here waiting for this discount email. If they buy before he email goes out, the unsubscribe trigger will pull them out and they won’t ever get this.

[00:06:13] And that is how you can automate this entire process and make it a whole lot easier for you. Okay. Hopefully that helps you. If not leave me a message and I will respond to it and help you to make sure this is clear for you.

KAJABI Email Automation: How to “opt-out/mute” someone from an email sequence

[EMAIL AUTOMATION] How to “opt-out/mute” someone from an email sequence without opting them out of your entire list.

Whenever I have a promotion/launch email sequence and someone doesn’t want to hear about it anymore, one way I offer is to allow them to “Mute” themselves from the emails.

In other words, if they don’t want to hear about the promotion, they can easily click a link – and they are removed from the email sequence – but stay on my list.

Direct Email Marketing Advice: How to Transition into Selling Without Being Pushy

Ok let’s begin with the general question about “where to start” when it comes to direct email marketing.

Any answer you get to this question will be highly opinionated – as is mine. So please keep that in mind as you read further🙂
If you have list of email leads and want to tell them about your product or service the first question I have is..”how much time have you invested in the goodwill process?”

In other words, how long have you emailed them with pure content? Giving them stuff that actually helps them?

Direct email marketing works best when your follow up emails AFTER they jump on your list should be of PURE value. Because these are usually people opting in for a “freebie”.

THE IMPRESS STAGE FOR DIRECT EMAIL MARKETING

At this stage of the direct email marketing strategy, we arrive at what I call “The Impress Stage”, your job is to do just that. Impress them with your expertise, knowledge and advice.

When I say impress, it’s not about pounding our chest like a 800 pound gorilla or standing on our soap box claiming we are the best.

No.

The best process is to continue the conversation that’s already going on inside their head.

Direct Email Marketing Examples;

Let’s say someone opted in for a lead magnet that gives them a checklist on the best daily exercises to do in 5-minutes. So they can lose 20-pounds in 60 days.

Maybe your follow up direct email marketing strategy is encouraging them to do one of the exercises and asking them“which one do you like the best?”-

this gets engagement and communication back and forth.Because they realize there is a real HUMAN behind the “automated” email.

Then, you might have a third email that gives them another checklist of the best protein shakes they can use to help with their weight loss journey.

Giving them small wins is critical during the direct email marketing process

PLUS…notice I haven’t asked for anything yet.I didn’t promote my product or service.

I can go on and on and on about the email sequence here, but I won’t make this post any longer that it needs to be.

hopefully this gives you an idea of what I mean when it comes to“what should the emails be about?”

❌The biggest mistake people make with their direct email marketing strategy is transitioning …JUMPING to offering something to buy way too soon.❌

Brilliant Marketer Dean Jackson Explains The Two Decision Sale Points

Now and Not Now

So the CORE of your emails at the beginning should be about the very thing they opted in for. Carry on the conversation.

WOW them (impress) with your goodwill. Make sure that goodwill improves their life…even if it’s a small thing.

THIS will set you apart from 85% of the email marketers out there.

Because people know why we want them on our email list. So their guard is up.

And that brings us to how we present the offer to get them to buy.

The way we do this is simple.

We blatantly tell them we are going to sell something. We ask them to “put their names on the list” so we can “market” to them.

But here’s the difference.

This is done after a set period of goodwill. It’s usually 80/20. For every 10 emails, you might throw in a “BTW” marketing message.

Here’s an example of “BTW” from one of my emails. I won’t copy the entire email, just the “BTW” part. But imagine this email was all about marketing and Jay Abraham (another brilliant marketer);

“BTW; one of the products I created from doing this exercise with Jay is my new Strategic Marketing Blueprint program.

It’s in the second beta stage and I’m inviting a new pilot group to test things out.

The reason I’m doing this is to get more feedback before I make an official public release in 2020.

If have a product, know it’s good, but losing sales because your marketing message isn’t working…this masterclass program is for you.

All you need to do is click here to add yourself to the notification list. I’ll keep you updated about the next class.”

Do you see how NON-SALESY that is?

AND, it’s after an email full of value.

I can tell you that everyone who puts themselves on that list is NEVER annoyed at me when I hit ‘em harder with “marketing emails” about the product.

So I hope this gives you a bit of insight on how to approach your direct email marketing.

If I missed something please let me know below and I’ll do my best to answer🙂

Improve Email Marketing

Which email marketing platform is best for tagging and automation?

Got this question asked: Which email marketing platform has the best options for tagging and automation?

Here’s my answer:

Depending on what you want to accomplish. “tagging” is the beginning of automation.

Because “tagging” means more than just putting people onto a ‘list.’

I work with many clients and have access to almost every email marketing platform out there.

There are pros and cons to every email marketing platform.

Of course, you know that.

So, to begin, I use Infusionsoft.

I know a lot of people will say they are “not ready” for Infusionsoft…but my job as a coach and consultant is to challenge them on where they want to

GO … not where they are now.

disclaimer – I’m NOT trying to sell you on Infusionsoft or any other…I’m just beginning the conversation with why I use it so you can get your mindset around your business needs and not the actual platform.

Onward.

Back to my clients – MOST of them want their email marketing platform to handle automation based on specific behaviour. In other words, behaviour that goes well beyond “if-then’that” automation.

That’s why Infusionsoft is a huge leader here.

Whenever you think you are not ‘ready’ for the bigger investment…ask yourself why not?

From my experience, we are building a business to get more FREEDOM – and automation does that.

So if you choose the cheaper route today, it will cost you more freedom and money in the future. it will CERTAINLY cost you more money (because you might be a bagillionaire to hire someone to move your list to another platform )

But “moving” the list and paying someone is NOT the issue. It’s that you’ll lose people in the transition.

So, let’s go back to what you want to do with tagging and automation when it comes to your email marketing platform.

Here’s an example:

email marketing platform

As you can see from the pic above, I have a simple ‘opt-in’ ‘campaign/automation’ for each lead magnet.

Here’s what happens.

1. They opt in (using specific forms from specific traffic)

2. They are added to Facebook custom audience (so I can retarget, or eliminate from ads for this lead magnet, etc)

3. They are sent the lead magnet – (this process is to get a confirmed email – you will notice there are two tags – confirmed / didn’t confirm)

4. The automation looks to see whether they confirmed or didn’t. THEN it does one of two things. It allows them to pass through, because they’ve already confirmed before/somewhere else…or, they are purged from the list.

This purge is MY personal choice. It’s what keeps my list highly engaged, and I have an 100% confirmed list – which makes deliverability and all that 10x better. But that’s for another discussion.

5. Last step is they are advanced to my main welcome campaign. EVERYONE goes into that welcome campaign – regardless of how many times they opt-in, if they’re confirmed, whatever…

And THIS is where the automation goes even further…it’s also the reason Infusionsoft for me is one of the best when deciding on an email marketing platform.

It’s highly effective when it comes to nailing behavioural marketing…which all comes back to tags 🙂

Anyhoo, everyone will have their reasons for what they use.

I’m partial to Infusion because it’s what I use.But I have many clients who don’t.

They use Kajabi – which is a GREAT email marketing platform! And, it happens to have a product and membership platform as well :-). It’s what I use for my membership and products.

The advice I would give you, is to analyse first what you need the automation and tagging to do.
